This was the first maket for us in 2018

It is always fun to attend the market :)

There were many regular people, and people new to us today

despite the not good weather

shortbread biscuits

 It is always interesting to make new things from scratch :D

this time it was for a special order

to make this type of shortbread linked to a fond memory of a grandfather

 

after some trial and error

I made some samples  

different colours/size shortbreads (*´з`)

then made sets 

large one is decoration

medium one is brooch

small one is hair clip

Thank you for giving me a nice opportunity

Tithe barn Christmas market 2017

It was the only Christmas market this year for us to be able to attend
there are a lot of things going on at the moment

the atmosphere there was very nice as usual 

really glad to have the opportunity to be back there again every year 

and happy to hear that they remember us from past years :D

 We got a mobile solar battery charger for preparing for camping ;p

I thought I should make a case for it 

The size and weight reminded me of some nostalgic feeling

so I made this

Unfortunately, we only have a yellow version of the real one at home ;p

5th of May is a Japanese national holiday "kodomo no hi (children's day) "

for celebrating children's happiness and to respect their individuality

 "Koi nobori (colourful carp banners)" is a famous symbol to celebrate "Children's day".

and eating "Kashiwa mochi (rice cake wrapped in an oak leaf)" on the day is tradition

Christmas fayre @ Tithe Barn 2016

It was a great day again this year at the Tithe Barn Chritstmas Fayre (＾∀＾)
Nice atmosphere and nicely organised as always
and maybe good weather helps to bring many more visiters this year
It was a very busy day :)
